Speedway Children’s Charities
Speedway Children’s Charities is a non-profit organization and provides funding for hundreds of non-profit organizations throughout the nation that meet the direct needs of children. Their vision is that every child has the same opportunities no matter what obstacle they are facing.
Speedway Children’s Charities is more than just a fundraiser. They are made up of local chapters which are partners in change, working with a broad range of people and organizations to identify and resolve pressing issues dealing with children in their communities.
Because of the unique conditions in every community, the issues Speedway Children’s Charities address are determined locally. Challenges ranging from learning disabilities, broken homes, and childhood cancer are on the agenda for the local chapters of SCC and the over 500 non-profit organizations they support.
Although priorities for Speedway Children’s Charities are set locally, they have one common goal – to ensure every child in need be given the tools to build a better, brighter and healthy future. Together in 2009, they’ve awarded more than $3.2 million to over 350 organizations.

Soles4Souls
Soles4Souls is a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you.
Their Mission:
The charity distributes these shoes free of charge to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has given away over 7 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes (currently donating one pair every 9 seconds.) The shoes have been distributed to people in over 125 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal and the United States.
The idea behind gifts of shoes is nothing new to the Soles4Souls team, as they coordinated relief efforts for the Asian Tsunami and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, netting over 1 Million pairs donated for these disasters.

Donate today!
Pause for the cause.
Between work, laundry, cooking, dog walks, & catching up on this week’s episode of ‘Ugly Bette,’ we often forget to think about what we can do to help others.
There are so many amazing charities out there so I’ve decided to link a cause every week that I think is donate-worthy hoping to spark some giving out of readers. So if I link a cause that interests you, please donate. Even $1 makes a difference.
This week’s cause? Birthday Wishes. Their Mission? Birthday Wishes brings birthday parties to homeless children. Birthday Wishes recognizes the importance of a birthday in a child’s life and believes that the gift of a birthday celebration provides normalcy, joy and hope in these children’s otherwise unsettled lives.
